Prayer request Samir of Orissa

July 8th, 2008 by Stanley Scism

Samir of Orissa is under persecution and threat to his life for introducing people to Jesus Christ.  Orissa is the same state where an Australian missionary and his two sons were burned alive in their car a few years ago.  Samir is asking for prayer.

In this same state, very many pastor are coming to know about, and accept and follow, Jesus name baptism.

So we see again:  God has placed before us an open door that no man can shut, and there are many who oppose us.

Stand behind Samir.  We plan to have a crusade there within one year.

Prayer request Sanga in Arunachal Pradesh, India

June 23rd, 2008 by Stanley Scism

Lalrinsanga, Christian in a very Hindu state, Arunachal Pradesh, has even the police not upholding the law, but instead siding with outlaw religious sectarian violence. Recently a police official against Sanga for his Christian activities has had him persecuted, tortured, and arrested several times by cops.
Now this same official has told Sanga to get out of Arunachal Pradesh in 30 days. Police officials constantly monitor his activity and Sanga doesn’t know what they’ll do if he doesn’t leave by that deadline.
Linu, pastor in Bangalore, has contacted the national leader of the Global Council of Indian Christians, who, he says, ‘have promised to reach out to Sanga and fight for his rights.’
Linu points out that, meanwhile, Sanga needs our prayer and help. I have forwarded notice of this whole matter to UPC-NE India officials. Linu will stay in touch with Global Council of Indian Christian officials and provide updates.
Arunachal Pradesh has a history of persecuting religious minorities. Years ago, they burned hundreds of churches and expelled all missionaries, but Christianity keeps growing there because of people like Sanga–Indians who give everything to introduce people to Jesus Christ.
Stand behind him every way you can.

Prayer Request: May 25

May 25th, 2008 by Stanley Scism

Prayer Request: State assembly elections in Karnataka, SW India, left the right-wing orthodox Hindu fanatic party with 110 seats out of 224, just three short of forming a government.

Please pray that:
their efforts to maintain a majority will be defeated;
their efforts to stamp out Christian ministry in the state will likewise be defeated by the courts, which stand up for religious freedom and civilization in India;
Satanic efforts to stamp out the message of Jesus Christ will continue to be defeated as good news spreads and people come to Jesus Christ.

Prayer Request - 8th May 2008

May 8th, 2008 by Stanley Scism

Prayer Request:

Both parents of Zahluna, one of our general youth leaders in NE India, are suffering from cancer.  Imagine how you’d feel if both your parents had cancer.

Please pray for Zahluna’s parents to be healed and out of pain (Jesus is touched with the feelings of our infirmities).  Imagine the effect of a double miracle on everyone who hears about it, and how many people can come to Jesus Christ as a result!

Stanley Scism

Dear friends
It’s very sad to write to you that both my parents are suffering cancer.  My mother was declared blood cancer in the last part of January this year.  She was hospitalized twice this year.  She got treatment from the doctor up till now.  Fortunately she was slightly improving.

My father was diagnosed with stomach cancer the first week of March.  He was hospitalized three times within two months.  We took him out of the hospital on 5th May 08.  He can’t eat, can’t move by himself.  He is looking weaker and weaker.  It’s a very heavy burden for me that both of them suffer such a terrible disease at the same time.
We need your help in prayer. I know there is healing in Jesus’ Name.  I believe the people of the name Jesus’ prayer can heal their diseases.  All we have to depend on is  your prayer.  Please do pray for us!
Yours in Jesus name,

Zahluna
Aizawl.

Praise Report/News Release: Bhutan, Nepal and North Bengal

December 20th, 2007 by Stanley Scism

Sanjit Subba graduated from Scism Christian University, is now SCU’s representative for North Bengal/Sikkim, assistant pastor for the nation of Nepal, and secretary-treasurer for Bhutan. He reports:

Dear Brother Stanley,

Brother Muthu (of Malaysia)’s visit greatly blessed all our churches he visited in Nepal, Bhutan and North Bengal. Due to political problems, we changed some plans, but later we found that is how God wanted to work–his plan, not ours. Here is the report of his wonderful work in the churches we visited:

2007 November 25 - Kolkatta ( according to Bro Muthu’s report), 5 people received the Holy Spirit and 9 were healed.

27 and 28 - Jaigon, N Bengal, near Bhutan border. In two services, the Holy Spirit filled 17 people and healed 9.

29 - Birpara, N Bengal. Eleven people received the Spirit, 2 were healed.

December 1 and 2 - In Ilam and at a refugee camp, both in Nepal, 28 people received the Holy Spirit and 10 were healed. The refugee camp church elder is independent. He’s in touch with me all the time by phone, asking me to visit his church. Thank you, Bro M uthu, because by you we had a chance to meet this brother.

December 4 - Sikkim. Twenty people received the Holy Spirit, 4 were healed.

December 6-8, Darjeeling, N Bengal. Thirty-one people received the Spirit. For the first time, we had prophecy and tongues and interpretation in our church, and it was all from small children.

December 7-11, Panighatta, N Bengal. Seventee people received the Spirit, three were healed.

This is the first time that all small Churches came into one unity.Thank you brother Stanley for inviting Bro Muthu and his wife. God has done wonderful work. We always looking forward to see his great revival.

Sincerely,
Sanjit Subba

Praise Report and Prayer Request–Bhutan

December 3rd, 2007 by Stanley Scism

Bro Muthu, evangelist, visited saints in Bhutan, was hosted by Scism Christian University graduate Pema.

They arrived unannounced, at the last minute, earlier than scheduled due to political clashes across the border in India, and the meeting could not be held in Bhutan due to government restrictions, but was held across the border in another location from where the political clashes took place.  Due to the last minute changes, attendance was lower than planned, but still four people were healed (including a cancer patient) and one person received the Holy Spirit.

Pray for religious freedom in Bhutan

Prayer Request for Bihar, India

December 2nd, 2007 by Stanley Scism

Bihar is an eastern state of India, known for its lawlessness.  Jharkhand was once southern Bihar, is now a separate state.

Bitendra, a man from Sonpur, Bihar, joined the Indian army and was posted to Churchandpur due to the ethnic strife tearing the area apart at the time.  He met Christians there, came to Christ, was baptized in Jesus name, received the Holy Spirit, married a Pentecostal woman, invited Manipur’s ministers to speak in an army church.

Bitendra had a great burden for his people, and many times went to Bihar to preach good news of Jesus Christ.  When his family wanted to be baptized, Manipur minister Ramliana gave Bitendra the address of Daniel Darlong in Calcutta.  Ramliana and Daniel had attended Scism Christian Institute in New Delhi together.

Daniel went from Calcutta to Bihar and baptized the people.  In 2006, some of Bitendra’s family attended a crusade in Calcutta, and in Bihar we now have five churches, 11 preaching points and 104 baptized members.  In Jarkhand, we have nine members.  The Dum Dum, Calcutta, church supports the Bihar workers a little.

One worker, Prem Jaslok, was murdered on September 3, 2007.  He was 25 years old, the only son of an elderly woman named Devi.  He left behind a son, one year old, and his wife, twenty years old.  After he died, her parents, who are Hindu, took her back to another village.

Ramliana, Daniel and a young man from Calcutta who is Bitendra’s oldest son visited Bihar in November 2007.  Because Kiran is a very new Christian, too new, Ramliana feels, to survive as a Christian all alone, he asked her parents to let her and her son go to Churachandpur where the church will make a home for them.  They’ll see the parents’ response in February.

Ramliana, Daniel and friend also visited the towns Jadhua, Bidhipur, Mahanan, Mamrispur and Sonpur.  As Ramliana says, ‘The Healer is with us.’  Many people were healed, 32 received Holy Spirit baptism and eight people were baptied in Jesus name.

The brothers thank many people from many places who prayed for them.

Pray For Peace

November 30th, 2007 by Stanley Scism

Dear friends,

In Varanasi, ground zero of Hinduism, where Ajinbou Chatmai, Scism Christian Institute graduate, is winning people to Jesus Christ, a terrorist blast killed nine people and injured 45.

In another city, Faizabad, a blast killed four people and injured fourteen.

Fortunately, no deaths of injuries resulted from a blast in Lucknow.

So far, we do not have churches in Faizabad or Lucknow.

Please pray for peace and for safety of the people in Varanasi, Faizabad and Lucknow, and that these events will make people turn to the Prince of Peace.

Sincerely,
Stanley Scism
